“Civility in the Workplace: Sticks and Stones…Words Actually Hurt and Can Cost a Fortune!”

Workplace rudeness is on the rise!  Did you know that over 90% of employees have experienced incivility in the workplace?  Do you know how much it actually costs your organization in time, energy, retaliation and/or money?

What is it called when something occurs at work that is harmful but not quite unlawful?  What do you do when you, as an HR leader, have to respond to an employee’s claim of being disrespected?  This workshop will answer those questions and much more!  Join us as we explore Civility and Respect in the Workplace.  During this highly engaging session, we will discuss the harmful effects of bad, but not unlawful, behavior in the workplace. We will help you identify not-so-common situations where incivility may be lurking and equip you with tools to help address it.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Enhance their understanding of civility and respect in the workplace.
  2. Review the business case for creating a civil workplace and the alignment with employee engagement.
  3. Learn to recognize situations that may foster incivility.
  4. Identify techniques that can be utilized to build an employee culture based on respect and civil treatment.
