The Labor Department’s New Reporting Regulations
June 5, 2016Rhonda Hight: Member Spotlight (May 2016)
June 5, 2016“I am never happy with the status quo, so I either improve the space that I am in or I improve myself. Where you are is never a perfect state, but there is always something that can be done to get closer to perfection.”
–Vaidehi Hussain, Business Development Manager & Sr. Account Manager, CODEFORCE360
For those of us who have ummmm…let’s say invested in the lottery, buying countless tickets over the years but have not quite yet cracked the code, we are compelled to keep investing because we understand the words, “You gotta be in it to win it!” Well, let me introduce you to a member who fully understands the meaning of those words and continues to reap the benefits of NAAAHR membership by staying actively engaged…
Members and friends, meet Vaidehi Hussain. Vaidehi holds a masters degree in Human Resources and is also a qualified engineer. Outside of work, Vaidehi loves spending time with her family and friends, and especially her little hero, Arnav (her son). She has also developed a recent passion for growing herbs and has a vision of developing this passion beyond herself; especially in the younger generations back home in India.
After graduating with her masters degree in Business Administration, Vaidehi began her career as a Human Resources professional. For 6 years prior to relocating to the United States, she worked with large manufacturing setups in both the pharmaceutical and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FCMG) industries in India. Vaidehi had the opportunity to implement some pretty exciting Organizational Development and Talent Management initiatives that are now replicated by businesses in India. In late 2014, she and her family moved to the Atlanta area where she hit the ground running, acquiring her Professional in Human Resources® (PHR) certification by mid-2015.
Since relocating to Atlanta, Vaidehi has renewed her career, this time in the Information Technology (IT) Staffing Solutions arena. “Delivering the right professional to the client is an art and strategy. The excitement is perennial…” says Vaidehi. She currently works as a Business Development & Sr. Account Manager at CODEFORCE360, a technology consulting and IT Staffing solutions firm that has been recognized by Forbes® magazine as America’s Most Promising Company in IT Staffing. In her role, Vaidehi leads a team of 15+ resources and delivers solutions to several Big 4 Consulting firms and Fortune 500 companies.
Vaidehi recalls, “When I first came to Atlanta and began looking for opportunities in The States, I felt a strong need to connect with fellow HR professionals. I met NAAAHR-Atlanta members Akilah Charlemagne and Sharmeen Patil at a SHRM Atlanta Chapter meeting. Sharmeen invited me to the NAAAHR Atlanta Spring Mixer in 2015 and the rest is history. I’ve been attending NAAAHR Atlanta meetings and events ever since!” While Vaidehi had been attending NAAAHR functions since last year, she just recently became a member and one of the first to take advantage of our on-site registration option that became available for the first-time in February 2016. When I asked Vaidehi why she finally decided to become a member she responded, “I initially started attending meetings just to make some new connections, but in the process of doing that I found that there were immense opportunities to collaborate and contribute. Membership just seemed like the natural next step after I had been involved with NAAAHR as a guest for about 10 months already.” Not only was Vaidehi engaged in the organization. I guess one could say that she and NAAAHR finally got married when she began volunteering on committees and lending her talents where she felt they could be best used and developed. “I am never happy with the status quo, so I either improve the space that I am in or I improve myself. Where you are is never a perfect state, but there is always something that can be done to get closer to perfection.” Since becoming a member, the Programs & Planning Team and the Digital & Social Media Team are just two of the groups that she has worked with.
Among the many benefits of her NAAAHR membership, Vaidehi made it a point to mention, “I really enjoy the sense of community that NAAAHR offers; like a fraternity or a family. You can talk with others about work, but you can also bond on an informal level which I haven’t seen much of in other HR networking organizations. That is something that really attracted me to this group. It’s not just about the exchange of ideas. This is also a place where relationships get built.”
When I asked Vaidehi what she would say to those who are already members or those still contemplating membership, she responded, “Don’t think of this as another group just to build a professional relationship. Think of it as much more because there are so many opportunities to make connections on so many levels here.”
Have you met Vaidehi in person? Want to hear more about how she is helping to save the world one IT solution at a time?
