Talent Retention: Attracting & Retaining Diverse Talent

SHAY M. LAWSON, ESQ.

We invite you to join us for an enlightening discussion on:
* Redefining Diversity to Craft the Right Case
* Directing Job Postings to Attract Diverse Talent
* Restructuring Training Programs to Retain Diverse Talent
* Mentoring and Promotion Strategies to Retain Diverse Talent

Are you and others within your organization equipped to compete for diverse talent? "Diversity” is too often limited to gender, race and ethnicity. We fail to include students with disabilities, the LGBT population, as well as diversity of thought and perspectives in our efforts and miss key opportunities to drive organizational priorities via diverse candidates.

Learn what changes to make to the "standard playbook” case for diversity and, more importantly, how to retain and prepare diverse talent for leadership in your organization. Attend this comprehensive strategic and topical presentation, and win the fierce competition for diverse talent.

This presentation promises a comprehensive and holistic review of these vitally important topics pertaining to the attraction, development, and retention of entry level talent and young professionals.

Attorney Shay Lawson is a State of Georgia Barred attorney and serves as Director of Diversity Recruiting Initiatives and Education at Intern Bridge, Inc the nation's premier recruiting and research firm, giving a voice to diversity from a Gen Y perspective through her national workshop series.

She is the former Diversity Coordinator for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association where she managed city-wide legal diversity internship programming under the Minority Clerkship Program for firms such as Squire Sanders, & Dempsey, and Jones Day; and managed minority clerkships under the Minority Judicial Clerkship Program for the Supreme Court of Ohio and US Bankruptcy Court.

After leaving the Bar Association, Attorney Lawson took her passion for diversity to Case Western Reserve University School of Law as a recruiter where she worked with the Assistant Director of Admissions and Diversity Initiatives to build connections with Career Services and Honors Programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Specializing in the recruitment, retainment and training of diverse talent, Attorney Lawson's workshops have been utilized by companies such as Discover Card, TJMaxx, Staples, Microsoft and more.

Known for her straight forward and fun workshop styles Shay is currently in development for a web series based on her professional experiences and will be published in the 2nd edition of Total Internship Management slated for release in Spring of 2014.
